Protests and Food Parcels at Ashton Under Lyne

I've been a regular reader of a wonderful lady, who has a Blog called The Poor Side of Life, and I read one of her posts just now, and thought it should be reblogged as much as possible, to bring what she, and many other people, are quietly doing to help in these times of austerity.

Please follow the link below, and read about what she's doing - and why she's doing it, and I'm sure that, you, like me, will have much to think about, and many thanks to her and her fellow helpers, for what she does every week, come rain or shine :)

What Austerity Has Brought Us To . . .

I was reading the latest post from a Blog I've been following for a while now:

The Poor Side of Life - Two Year Anniversary

and was saddened to see that this group of people, who have been demonstrating outside the Ashton Under Lyne Jobcenter for the past two years, still have no hope that things will get better for those who are ill/disabled/unemployed.

Despite Theresa May's promises that she will make things better for the ordinary man and woman, things only seem to be getting worse - and the fiasco of Brexit has only made that ever more so :(

Do follow the link above, and see what people are having to put up with, through no fault of their own :(

Dear Prime Minister . . .

. . . did you know that the present policies of your party is about to see an increase in deaths of the very women you say you want to protect?

I was reading the July 15th post of one of my favourite bloggers, SPeye Joe, and was horrified at the facts he laid out, about how the LHA Maxima Cap is helping to close down the very shelters that help women escape from the abuse that will now kill them.

Here's a link to his post, so you can read for yourself just how badly thought-out this policy was, and is:

Prime Minister, you will kill more women . . .
